Philosophy
Moneta exists because we believe the tools of financial sovereignty should be accessible to everyone, not just those with specialized hardware or capital.
The cryptocurrency space has drifted toward centralization. Mining farms with specialized hardware dominate most networks. Pre-sales and VC allocations concentrate wealth before a project even launches. Complexity creates barriers that exclude everyday users from participation.
Moneta is an attempt to return to first principles: a network where anyone with a computer can contribute, where no one has an unfair advantage from the start, and where the code is open for anyone to study, critique, and improve.
This is not a polished product. It is a learning project, an experiment, and a community effort. We build in the open, make mistakes in the open, and improve in the open. If this approach resonates with you, we welcome your participation.
Origin
Moneta started as a personal project to understand blockchain technology from the ground up. Rather than fork existing code, we built from scratch to learn every component: consensus mechanisms, network protocols, cryptographic primitives, and wallet architecture.
The project grew as others joined with similar interests. Some came to learn, some to experiment, and some to build something meaningful. There is no company behind Moneta, no foundation, no hierarchy. Just individuals working together on a shared goal.
Important Disclaimer
Moneta is experimental software provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. The network may have bugs, security vulnerabilities, or other issues that could result in loss of funds. Do not use Moneta for anything you cannot afford to lose. The developers and contributors are not responsible for any losses incurred through use of this software.
This is not financial advice. Moneta is not an investment. Do your own research and understand the risks before participating.
